CATEGORY Residential - Outbuilding DESCRIPTION New detached rear two level building. BRIEF The owners of this site approached us with a simple brief - provide secure off-street parking with an entertaining and office area without compromising outdoor area. OVERVIEW A challenging & constrained site made this project more delicate than it appears to be. The conceptual thought process to this design had two key elements - intensified social interaction and aspect. The building "turns its back" to all three adjacent boundaries and faces the rear of the main house which creates an intimate connection between the two; resulting in an outdoor design solution conducive for large social gatherings. On-going collaboration with the local council for this project was fundamental in achieving the finished product. STATUS Completed
